PRAPANJAM DEVELOPMENTAL TRUST is an Non-Government organisation registered in the year of 2022 working for the welfare and development of poor people in Pudukottai district, Tamilnadu.

The Trust has been dedicated to community development, with a focus on youth and women empowerment, education, health awareness, and environmental sustainability. Prapanjam Developmental Trust remains committed to its mission of holistic community development. Yoga Awarness Programme

Dengue Awareness Programme

Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is a mosquito-borne infection that can lead to a severe flu-like illness. It is caused by four different viruses and spread by Aedes mosquitoes. As a mosquito-borne disease, preventing dengue is as simple as preventing mosquito bites. There is no approved dengue vaccine in the United States. Many health organizations suggest the following to protect yourself from dengue. Insect-borne disease are a threat throughout the world. Wear long-sleeve shirts and long pants.Treat clothes with repellents like permethrin. Use EPA-registered mosquito repellent like DEET. Consider using mosquito netting if you will be in any areas with many mosquitoes. Make sure windows and doors screens are closed to avoid allowing mosquitoes into enclosed spaces. Avoid areas with standing water. Especially at times of high mosquito activity like dawn and dusk.

Women Awareness Programme

We have been concentrating on economic development to promote equality in rights for women and men, and to provide livelihood security, access to productive assets, promotion of equal participation of women in decision making and leadership roles at all levels. As, the prevalence of Gender inequality / discrimination against women is very high due to lack of awareness and knowledge on their rights and education and traditional customs and superstitious believes is high in the rural areas in the developing countries which creates alarming situation and restricts the all round development of women community, we have been mainly focusing on women empowerment.

The organization has been very concerned over the development of children and their education. The poor children in the villages could not cope up with other normal children in the education. This is mainly due to their illiterate parents and they could not give coaching and guidance. The poor parents have to go out for work to earn some income to

Ecce Programme

Our Trust Conducted ECCE Programme. The resource person talked on the following matters. Early childhood, defined as the period from birth to eight years old, is a time of remarkable growth with brain development at its peak. During this stage, children are highly influenced by the environment and the people that surround them. Early childhood care and education (ECCE) is more than preparation for primary school. It aims at the holistic development of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. ECCE has the possibility to nurture caring, capable and responsible future citizens. In this way ECCE is one of the best investments a country can make to promote human resource development, gender equality and social cohesion, and to reduce the costs for later remedial programmes. For disadvantaged children, ECCE plays an important role in compensating for the disadvantages in the family and combating educational inequalities.

Vermi Compost Training Programme

Our Trust Conducted Vermicompost Training Programme. The Resource Person talked about vermin compost. The tremendous increase in population, urbanization, industrialization and agricultural production results in accumulation quantities of solid wastes. This has created serious problem in the environment. In order to dispose this waste safely it should be converted effectively. This is achieved by bio-composting and vermicomposting of farm, urban and agro-industrial waste. It is being increasing realized that composting is an environment friendly process, convert wide variety of wastes into valuable agricultural inputs. Compost is excellent source of humus and plant nutrients, on application of which improve soil biophysical properties and organic matter status of the soil. This present review focused on vermicomposting and its importance in improvement of soil nutrition and agricultural crops. This review assesses the following topics: vermicomposting, raw materials of vermicomposting, microbiology of vermicomposting, effect of vermicompost materials in agriculture and physico-chemical properties of soil, and importance of vermicompost. Recycling organic wastes through vermicomposting is being considered as an economically viable solution. Earthworms are considered as natural bioreactors while proliferate along with other microorganisms and provide required conditions for the biodegradation of wastes.

Environmental Awareness Program

The Trust wants to create awareness about the climate change and global warning. The cycle in the rainfall, wind etc, has changed due to climate change it is affecting the agricultural activities and the yield is decreasing. This is mainly due to the heavy cutting of trees in the forest and other places. The industries, factories, etc release solid and liquid waste and causes pollution to the environment. This should be prevented and trees should be planted to balance carbon-di-oxide. The steps should be taken to present sinking of some of the countries in the sea water due to global warming. The trust has conducted a meeting for the men, women, youth etc., at the Pudukottai in the presence of Managing Trustee, to create awareness and to explain the importance of planting of more numbers of trees.
